Background

Nick was initially involved in SME enterprises in Melbourne and Townsville, to which he relocated in 1994. On completion of his law degree Nick commenced practice in private law firms in Townsville in 2004 where he worked predominantly in the field of land and property law for clients developing land and body corporate lots for sale. He was involved in drafting and advising on a range of commercial and contract matters relevant to development and sale of real property.

In 2011 Nick was employed by Townsville City Council where he was involved in a wide range of land and property transactions, land acquisitions, commercial negotiations, contracts, disputes and litigation, large scale infrastructure projects, native title, planning law and administrative matters as well as some advocacy work in Magistrates courts for Council.

Through his employment Nick has gained a range of expertise and experience in all facets of land, property, leasing and a range of commercial transaction, including drafting of a range of bespoke agreements, negotiations with stakeholders as well as significant exposure to contract drafting and disputes in respect of a variety of AS4000 type contracts.

Nick has been involved with Townsville Community Law as a volunteer since 2008 and since 2014 has been involved in the ADF as a Reserve legal officer where he has provided a range of legal advice, including the conduct of investigations and administrative law advice.

Since relocating to Townsville Nick has grown very fond of regional Queensland and is proud to call Townsville home.
